The last three pages have been about meeting some of the people working at Locke Island – and here are the guards… only a brief intro with this update and what role they might play in this story remains to be seen but we certainly will be seeing them again. As you may deduce from Donovan’s comments, he has a power… what is it and what about the others? Stay tuned! Back to the cadets next week.

Olga & Brelvis: Meet the Freshers #9

New voting reward! Another look at the powers of some of the first year cadets in action! Lee Wu had a brief background cameo in the main comic on page 6.29). In Meet the Freshers #9 we discover he has a legacy power that means he could be the next version of a Golden Age character – to see who all you need to do is vote. Many thanks for your vote! One more fresher (you’ve met her already a while ago) and we’ll soon be starting a new “story”.

Olga & Brelvis is exclusive through Top Webcomics as a reward for putting in your vote for Magellan. So far this month we’ve made it to #26 … can we go higher? Thanks for your support! :D

2012 Sydney Supanova – June 15-17

Supanova 2012Just a quick shout out to any of my Sydney readers (possibly all three of you, I’m not really sure how many of you there are…) who are planning on going to this year’s Supanova… I’ll be there too and it would be great if you dropped by to say Hi! (And of course that invite is open to non-Sydney readers who might also be at the Sydney Expo. :) ) I’ll have a table in Artists’ Alley – not sure what number or location yet, stay tuned for those deets – and I’m planning to have a limited number of copies of books printing chapters one through four of Magellan – Book 1: Wannabe; Book 2: Great Leap Forward (plus Daze); Book 3: Bad Karma (weighing in at 300 pages!). Tweet that!If you’re a Twitter user you may be interested to know that I’m running two Magellan related Twitter accounts. One is by Her Pop Princess Highness, Charisma Epoch @Charisma_E and comprises of ‘in character’ snarky, fourth wall breaking observations about the latest update (with occasional unrelated asides), the other is by myself @_xmung and, in addition to pimping the latest updates, will also include some extra art, snippets, sneak Magellan news, etc… I hope to keep it regular, interesting and not (too) self-indulgent. Please feel free to follow either, both or neither! (I’ve included the four most recent tweets in the sidebar to the right anyway.)

New voting reward! Another look at the powers of some of the first year cadets in action! Svetlana Yeltsin had a brief background cameo in the main comic. In Meet the Freshers #8 we discover she has a rather unique power – to see what all you need to do is vote. Many thanks for your vote! I have to admit I had no idea what her power was going to be until it came to drawing this particular page. I kept fishing around for something that hasn’t been seen before (at least not in the pages of Magellan) rather than the same old same old.

One new fresher to meet and we’ll soon be starting a new “story”.

New voting reward! Another look at the powers of some of the first year cadets in action! Kyunda Mbutu has been seen briefly in Olga & Brelvis and a cameo in the main comic. In Meet the Freshers #7 we see he has a problem similar to Joe’s – to see what all you need to do is vote. Many thanks for your vote!

So far this month we made it to #25 (awesome!) and have oscillated between #26-27 this week but slipped to 28… can we make one final rally before the end of April voting?
