Regular readers might remember that Fatima is good at math! See page 2.49! This update should hopefully answer a few questions that arose for readers on the previous page… Olga has remained in a ‘non-visible’/astral form, back in Fatima’s mindscape she lost her telepathic abilities when she manifested herself into that scenario. Also, Rochelle hasn’t always had super intelligence, it emerged about three years ago… before that her IQ would have been average.

With Kaycee in the Maverick costume, Sioni /should/ be able to put two-and-two together (no pun intended). http://magellanverse.com/gossip/
True, especially as the other awakened 2nd years are all in their cadet uniforms.
It probably doesn’t seem too important right now, but it will likely come up later.
Since the time-skippers are gone now, and were from an alternate line, not “THE” future, it probably would be OK to declassify most of that stuff now anyway.
Did Sioni ever see Maverick? I’m not sure he did.
He could assume that Kaycee just picked Maverick as a role model …
Hmm, let’s see if this helps.
XY = 9X/Y
XY^2 = 9X
Y^2 = 9, X != 0
Y = +-3, X != 0
So, if X = 0, then Y is indeterminate. If X != 0 (not equal to 0), then Y = positive or negative 3.
Sorry, high school math teacher with no students until Monday.
Oh, I forgot to check for unintended introduced extraneous answers.
If Y = +3
LS = X(3) = 3X
RS = 9X/(3) = 3X
LS = RS
Therefore, Y=+3 is valid.
If Y = -3
LS = X(-3) = -3X
RS = 9X/(-3) = -3X
LS = RS
Therefore, Y=-3 is also valid.
So, the solution as originally given is valid in its entirety.
I don’t see anything in your solution about Y==0 being invalid (it can’t be valid solution, because RHS divides by Y)
Oh, you are correct. When X=0, Y≠0. When X≠0, well, zero is not one of the candidates. So the solution is:
If X=0, Y∈ℝ|Y∈(-∞, 0) U (0, ∞), that is all real numbers except 0.
If X≠0, Y∈{-3, +3}
I would probably try shaking her and yelling, “Wake up! You’re a supersmart Magellan cadet now!”
Probably the wrong technique, but all I can think of…
I find that an ice cube down the shirt normally does the trick as well
Icecube down physical shirt might work. Now to get somebody who can manipulate physical objects. And create icecubes.
well i can’t speak for nadine and sioni, but didn’t fatima stand up against her fears in order to beat them, i believe kaycee as well, though she is a special case. in fact when they took a direct action to free her themselves they kind of made things worse. can’t wait to see how they compare to the other ‘rescues’ though.
Why is my gut reaction to think the solution to this nightmare is Godel’s incompleteness theorem? Given no system can be both complete and consistent, there is no answer.
The poor girl probably needs someone to tell her that sometimes a good answer is the best you’re going to get.
Was it Albert Einstein that said that math did not describe reality because the mathematics was perfect, but the measurements of reality are never perfect?
As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.
Albert Einstein
Yes, Kurt Godel’s best friend was indeed a legend. When is someone gona make a buddy movie about those two?
The answer is 42!
What do you get when you multiply 6 by 9 (base 13)?
54, unless you don’t want the answer converted to base 10, if so then 42.
now answer me what is 2072 converted to base 30 then converted to base 7 then converted to telephone speak.
