Next update: Sunday, June 7, 2020: DING DONG – Rarg calling…
“RARG??… You don’t fool me! You’re that clever shark!”😅
You want the heaviest nukes you can field. think “Tsar Bomba”. Oh and…? Can you guys make measurable quantities of antimatter? that would be great….
Can you take this fight into space to try to spare the Earth from the blowback? Or shunt the Rarg to an alternate dimension? Maybe they’re like the Silastic Armorfiends of Stierax and will beat themselves up if there’s nobody else around.
Sure, we can measure the amount of anti-matter we can make. Right now, we can create about 12 atoms of anti-hydrogen in a day.
I’m fairly sure we can also measure the energy released by its annihilation, but just like the quantity this is still a really really really small number. And as far as I know we’re still really bad at storing anti-matter.
We could just super-size already proven bomb tech but I think there is no time for that. I think the only reasonable course of action is to as quickly as possible find the right superpowers and tactics to counter the Rarg.
and given how this ended in end of the world itself. Stuff is gonna be insane.
The Rarg aren’t too much different from us Humans. Maybe we can be reasoned with more than them but how many times in Human history has nations gone to war over the actions of a few to which an entire country is blamed?
Do you count even the cases where it was just an excuse and that nation already wanted to go into war even before that incident?
Do you think that first world war could be prevented if Archduke Franz Ferdinand Carl Ludwig Joseph Maria of Austria wouldn’t be assassinated? Do you think USA would not enter first world war if RMS Lusitania wouldn’t be sunk? That Spanish-American war in 1889 wouldn’t start without sinking of USS Maine?
no on all accounts, those were all powder kegs waiting to go off, in the case of the USS Maine, that’s a bit more literal than usual…
Cool your jets guys, I’m just saying that Humans have the same unfortunate tendency to blame an entire society for the crimes of a few.
We do indeed… unfortunately…
Although we do tend to give up while some of us are still left.
This is the most Glom has had to say in-comic. Poor guy. Somebody give him a hug. He likes hugs.
At least Glom has a bigger vocab than Groot!! 😀
Or the Rarg.
Maybe Tros can translate?
I’m guessing there’s different hives of Rarg? Since any survivor species would have to have wiped out the attacking hive, yes? If there were just one big hive they’d be extinct already. Unless the information provided was an exaggeration.
I suspect it’s more of a matter that if the Rarg discovered Glom to still be alive, they’d target him first and foremost.
HELL! Maybe the -whole- reason the Rarg are attacking Earth is because they glimpsed the fact that Glom’s -on- Earth, and they were collectively all like “well, I suppose we’re definitely going to have to annihilate Earth. Home not only to our newest enemies, but they’re also providing safe harbour for one of our OLD enemies. This simply Will Not Stand.”
All I’ll say in regards to this is that we have two clues as to the Rarg’s nature. When Vertigo mentions first contact on page 7.03 it was at a gas giant in the Wolf 359 system. Also, in this chapter, they are hanging out at Jupiter in our system. Coincidence? I suggest not!!
No idea if anyone is going to deep dive the comments on this archive before the story is done, but I’m calling it now:
Gas giants are -literally- Rarg hives. As in, it’s where they lay their eggs (or whatever form of reproduction they perform). The harvesting of the hydrogen gas was equivalent of walking in to their nursery and throwing their babies in a blender.
I imagine humans would be pretty irate if an alien species showed up and did that to us.
. . .
*smacks lips*
Welp.
Just gonna say I really appreciate that these comments sections preserve the date and time which posts are made.
