The sequence on Magellan Island picks up directly running on from the scene that starts on page 7.93… wherein Olaf literally loses their head and Rochelle, Sioni and Ambrosia happen upon the bizarre scene. As some of you noticed, freshly risen from the dead Jasmeen, Sun and Ornuk were looking somewhat zombie-ish… you better believe something even more disturbing is about to go down.

I am reminded of that episode of X-men: TAS, when Fabian Cortez pretended to be healing Magneto, when actually he was just ‘recharging’ him by pouring his own energy into the ol’ master of magnetism. Come the moment he was done with Magneto, he just drew back the energy he’d invested into Magneto.
I know this isn’t exactly the same, of course.
… If anything, it’s even creepier. >_<

You know, is kinda risky asking you without knowing what will Grace do with it …
“Risky” is an odd word for it. I mean, I fully understand that I’m not a final authority and Grace’s story is her own work. I was just happy to share in the process with her, and happy to share with other reads about that content and the process itself.
If people aren’t interested, ok. A bit sad for me, but I’ll understand that. But I’m not sure I understand where any risk is involved.
So it seems like hurting Olaf hurts those he resurrected
But he can take back the energy to resurrect himself. Intense and weird. Even a for a superhero that seems to have good intentions, necromancy is creepy in most all the ways possible
Considering what a large target it is, I guess it’s lucky the Rarg didn’t strike Olaf’s head. Maybe that would have been the end of all four of them on the spot.
Oh no… People are gonna die now.

Given they’re about to re-die here’s hoping they don’t turn into ReDeads.
Better dead than ReDead?
First Half: I’m worried about Frog ‘n’ Hog – they’re about to descend into the bowels of Prometheus’ operation. They’re imprisoning supers there, so it’d bound to be full of anti-super defenses and weaponry. The cells we already know are covered by a power-nullifying field, they have to have other defenses as well. I hope our heroes don’t continue their “full speed ahead” strategy – while it took their outer defenses by surprise, their inner defenses have to know they’re coming.
Second Half: Yeah, resurrection of the dead rarely comes without strings, and it looks like those strings are about to be pulled. Olaf needs that energy back. Their simultaneous declaration in the last panel even suggests they agree with Olaf’s consensus – this suggests that the resurrected souls may still be part of Olaf’s consensus! If, indeed, the bodies still have souls… might be they’re still in there with Olaf, the consensus controlling them from a distance. Nothing creepy at all going on here…
Oh, and I’d like to submit a new candidate for the Magellan “Phrase Most Likely To Inspire Terror In Reader”:
“There is consensus.”
I think “<letter> is for <manner of death>” inspires more terror, at least in me. The consensus might be about something benign or even positive, the clown of the alphabet of murders is still the creepiest villain I’ve ever come across. Olaf is creepy for sure but not an unhinged villain.
On the first half, good point about full speed ahead as a strategy – it works through the element of surprise, which can only be there at the beginning of a battle. Further in other tactics are required, but the defenses will be tailored to that as well. I trust that Magellan graduates or senior cadets would be aware of this and take it into account, I think even Luke loose-cannon Wombatman uses different tactics when the element of surprise is exhausted.
Like, the Sue Grafton novels? Never read them, but OK.
I’m sorry, I did think of a reasonably good question or two but it was too late at night to write them out and then I forgot about it 🙁 And now it’s late again :/ I will try hard to remember to come up with something tomorrow!
