Gosh! The end of another year… I really had hoped to have Lock(e)down finished by now… but the end is indeed near. Page 6.345 should be the very last page after we wrap up a few loose threads.

2017 was not my most prolific year, but not the least either.

Let’s see… 2017=39 pages (there was also the 14 page Olaf story)… 2007=125 pages (most prolific?)… 2010=23 pages (least)… so it appears 2017 was below average. 🙁

Anyway, I know I can sort of blame recovering from a major op in late 2016 plus the stress of my day-job over January-July (especially June/July) for some of my low page count this year.

Oh well, it is what it is – I’ve made it to the end of 2017 in physically much better shape and with some day-job related kudos, so that’s great. 🙂

To everyone who has read Magellan this year, a big thank you – especially to those of you who have donated via Patreon, have voted on the comic via Top Webcomics, communicated via email or comments or social media… your generous and enthusiastic support is invaluable to helping me get over myself and get on with turning out more Magellan.

2018 should see…? I don’t want to make too many predictions here, so I’ll stick with the ones I think I should be able to deliver:

  • End of Lock(e)down in 9 more pages… hopefully, with a couple of extra updates for good measure it will take less than 9 weeks to deliver those final pages.
  • A new voting incentive… The cover for a short story – Legacy – will premiere on January 1st (at 5pm Sydney time) via Top Webcomics… our cadets are now in their third year and one of them comes face to face with a blast from Magellan’s golden age past. I’m hoping it will update weekly-ish…
  • A new story… there’s a Magellan story I’ve been wanting to tell for many years now. It is about how Kaycee and Go!Anna first met… and that’s all I say for now. It has been hinted at almost from the start of the series and it should be shortish (typically, I have no idea how long it will actually be… but let’s say… um, 50?). Page production is underway, and I hope to have this one running by February.

That’s all for now! Have a happy and safe new year, I hope your 2018 is fantastic!
