That Vostok… sure has a one track mind!
You can follow the whole Charisma strand under the Charisma tag, Epoch under the Epoch tag and Vostok… you guessed it… the Vostok tag!
Sure, that’s it, just leave them hanging.
I like Vostok’s lack of investment- he might as well be trying to fix a broken appliance
Does freeing them free them? nope, Oh well time to find the person I’m actually worried about.
What I like is how powerful Vostok is. Here he’s just casually freeing two people at once, meanwhile, Kaycee has a team doing one at a time, and have actually been harmed by it.
Let’s see. Just casually rip these two from their nightmares to see what it affect it has on the gestalt. No caring for what the impact is on the subjects of his experiment. So, will Vostok even acknowledge that Epoch just called out to him?
don’t like the looks of this. depending on how much the know about the bad karma episode, and given vostok’s criminal record, and the fact that they might not think to check their bodies and might therefore assume that they are dead and vostok killed them, they might well assume that the pickle is responsible for the whole thing. trouble. and if vostok was thinking ‘out loud’ and heard that was off to ‘locate kadet jones’, charisma would almost certainly construe the situation in vostok and kaycee’s great disfavor. of course, they may judge vostok’s actions by human standards (although it may well be normal and perfectly reasonable in space pickle culture) under which it wouldn’t look very good. epoch especially as an experienced et diplomat should know better, but then the situation is stressful, daughter is in danger, and is impulsive. could result in tragedy or farce or both. [note: writing style is odd because am experimenting with omitting personal pronouns and possessives and effect thereof on comprehensibility. and yes, hate capital letters. only for shouting.] [another note: asked no questions this time xmung! am saving up quota.] 🙂
That’ precisely what I thought. They don’t know that Vostok was asked to help and they they “wake up” to this situation. Now it depends on what they can do in astral form…
Then again, I’m a bit surprised… Vostok being the overly powerful and extremely experienced telepath he is, how come he’s paying no attention to zje astral form he just separated from their physical bodies at all – otherwise he must have noticed that came “free” immediately. The best explanation I can think of is that he must be totally excited & mentally occupied by encountering this powerful “Fluge”. But still, just wandering off…?
Does Vostok still have a thing for Kaycee Jones?
Oh Yeah! She seems to be the only person he has any positive feelings about.
I expect we’ll see some light shed on that at some point!
Vostok & Beh vs Brainspike while Brainspike’s gang vs Kaycee’s troops (with Epoch and Charisma). Then after subduing Brainspike and company, Vostok and Beh along with Lord Psiot deal with all the little astral tendrils. Meanwhile, the Scooby gang has to deal with a bunch of animated astral zombies (a desperate attempt by the barely conscious controlling entity to keep itself from being taken off-line).
Or Vostok could just refuse to deal with their drama. LOL!
And here I was thinking the “BFF Defining Moment” would be Kaycee going into Charisma’s mind to rescue her from her Daddy issues. Ah, well, I’m sure there will be ample opportunity up ahead. But at least we know now that Vostok is at least on par with Brainspike in terms of sheer psychic goodness. Though, I suppose it’s fitting. I feel a little bad for Olga. I was under the impression that Gola was puissant enough to yoink people out as well, but apparently, having a teenage brain isn’t so good for the telepathy 😛
I did consider having Kaycee drop into Charisma’s brain but with everything else that’s going on and that we’re heading towards it seemed a bit excessive. Worry not all Kaycee-Charisma ‘shippers they will have a moment in this story. Whether it is the moment remains to be seen!! And yes, poor Olga currently doesn’t have a fully developed physical brain/body to assist with her full telepathic strength.
Have those psychic tendrils changed? They seem more intense now. I think Vostok made the right decision to head for the island. It looks like time is running out. Fortunately the good guys do seem to be getting some useful reinforcements.
well on the up side, when this is all over they will have a new way of dealing with mental issues.
