Nadine is in a pretty good place now, time for another encounter with her nemesis... Zac Breen aka "The Whizzard"! I didn't mention this on page 6 when he is introduced in costume and reveals his name, but I had a long hard think about what kind of arrogant but sucky code name he might use. For a long while I was trying to come up with something that had an unintended double entendre implying a massive lack of potency but never managed to make it work.
I settled on The Whizzard despite its similarity to the Whizzer... an actual published Golden Age speedster, in a yellow costume no less! Poor Whizzer is ridiculed these days because of similarities his name has to the slang term to "taking a wizz". But let's face it, The Whizzard is an even worse name!
