Twilight is referring to the incident with The Man Who Can and Hidden Dragon from Oz Magellan on pages 6.84-85 wherein they both went M.I.A.!
Magellan USA is the New York division – Liberator, Twilight, Glom, Maestro, Greyhound and Battlestar were all introduced back on page 2 of Redux. Flambe had her debut during events of Bad Karma in a cameo on page 4.119. We get to see Maestro in action today – he is able to phase through objects but also generates a spatial rift through to a null dimension he refers to as “The Void”. Anything that falls in is lucky to get out!

A psychic neural network. Suddenly it all makes terrible, fear-inducing sense.
Damn you Dragonklaw . . .
And thank you, Mister Crowley! I do approve of your latest Twitter post’s contents (possibly second-latest once other people read this comment).
hmm… I could get behind this idea.
*raises hand* Am I the only one who suddenly thought of the Borg? ^^;
Stay tuned!
how very interesting, i guess either vlax got super powerful, or a hitchhiker is providing some support. a strike from formlessness cannot be anticipated.
One day, Twilight will open his coat and that missile will come flying out again and hit some supervillain or giant robot or something, I KNOW it.
And the sentience has access to the powers of everyone on Locke Island. That sounds bad.
That’s not Twilight. That’s Maestro. Twilight is the lady with the white face and black makeup around her eyes..
They should wear nametags, dammit!
Actually I originally “read” it as Twilight opening Maestro’s coat…!
Hey Xmung! I’m afraid that the name Liberator is already taken by Russian history. Alexander the third is known as Liberator as he was the tsar of Russia that orchestrated the freedom of the serfs. Alexander the third was the father of Nicholas the second, the last tsar of Russia. So yes, the name Liberator is already taken.
I don’t think I’ll sweat it too much.
never hurts to know the story behind the name. While Alexander the third is even before soviet union times, there are those that are going to recognize his nickname like I did.
Maestro is based on Cloak, from ‘Cloak & Dagger’, isn’t he? ^^ I hope he leads a happier life, though.
Can Cloak phase through objects though? It’s been a while since I’ve read those characters so can’t remember. There’s also Obsidian from DC Comics along with the most recent version of Phantom Lady…
I have to admit, I never even heard of Obsidian and the Phantom Lady… ^^; My comic-fu is not… strong.
i hope maestro can control that void effect. otherwise he is probably in the same boat as mudge. good thing he’s a hero. if he was an assassin he would have the best way in the world to hide the evidence. of course dragonklaw did something similar to (real) karma and it did him no good in the end.
This makes me glad the Borg did not have super powers!
Who says they didn’t? They had access to the technology of an unknown amount of species, not to mention their knowledge, all of which they used to upgrade not only their ships, but their own bodies as well. Even if they had little to no creativity of their own, they had an bag of tricks of massive proportions to draw from.
which only makes their blunders all the more confusing. for example: they had telepaths, so couldn’t they tell if their were hostile people on board, and why didn’t they do a telepathic attack on ‘problematic’ ships?
Maybe they used all the telepathy for inter-drone communication, you know, strengthening their Hivemind.
The Borg usually weren’t interested in what their enemies were thinking, only in what they knew in the ways of science, which could help the Borg come closer to their ultimate goal of perfection. They also seemed firmly convinced that no opponent could be ‘problematic’ – right up until the point that they were and the Cubes started to explode. :p
