You may recall that the webcomic Frankenstein Superstar recently featured a cameo by Maya Applecross… well now it’s Fatima’s turn to strut her stuff. Hm. Can someone with tentacles instead of legs actually strut though?Anyway, it’s a lovely rendition of Fatima using a power I was previously unaware of… but which is generally regarded as the most common super power of all. It’s always great fun to see my characters illustrated by others. Many thanks to John Hazard for including Maya and Fatima amongst the wonderful webcomic women of his Frankenstein inspired fantasy “Sexy Superhero Ladies Society” sequence… check it out!
All three Magellan books are soon to be available for the very first time… Wannabe, Great Leap Forward and Bad Karma… and here’s your chance to win a signed set before they’re even on sale. How?! There will be a new Magellan character image to collect via your vote for Magellan on Top Webcomics (TWC) every weekday, Monday through Friday in June. You can enter up to four times this month and if you follow me or Charisma on Twitter or like Magellan on FB you can effectively double your entry.
All the details and conditions and hype can be found here!
(psst…BTW… this Monday’s image is already available…)
The entire Olga & Brelvis archive is now open… no voting required (although if you feel like doing so to show your appreciation… please do!). The cover and all 20 strips have been collected in “page format” to make for an easier navigation/reading experience. I’ve also added some commentary about the characters and hopefully clarified any questions. Plus, if you voted on the most recent strip you might recall the 14 other freshers were nameless… well I’ve corrected this by giving them all a first name. Oooo! No clues though as to the nature of their powers though! Please check it out…
It’s been hugely remiss of me not to mention this sooner – basically I was traveling interstate when it happened then I kept forgetting to post about it. Anyway, the webcomic Frankenstein Superstar has recently featured an update which includes Magellan cadet Maya Applecross along with a number of other very fine superheroines… aka the (ahem) “Sexy Superhero Ladies Society”… you don’t wannamess with them, Frank! I must say that John Hazard has captured Maya’s look and demeanor very nicely indeed. Check it out!
The good news is that the three Magellan books I have been working on have all been finalised and sent to the printers – Book 1: Wannabe (72 pages, collects the first chapter and the history); Book 2: The Great Leap Forward (116 pages, collects the second and third chapters); Book 3: Bad Karma (304 pages, collects the epic fourth chapter). I’m doing a very small initial print run, primarily so I have copies to sell at the upcoming Sydney Supanova, however I don’t expect to sell out and the remaining copies will of course be available for sale over the interweb, but if they sell-out I’ll just get a few more printed (as part of the ‘first printing’). Stay tuned for more details once I’ve worked them out. I’ll also be looking at print on demand options via US and UK/European channels since that’s where the bulk of you, my wonderful readers, reside. I’m also going to run a competition starting next week to give you the chance to win one of two full sets… more deets on Friday!
The bad news is that I’ve been so utterly consumed by the work that’s been required to get these books off to the printers this last month, but the last week in particular I haven’t been able to finish the Wednesday update – very sorry about that, I’ll have to leave you waiting until Friday.
