Now it’s time to meet some of the inmates! Vanishing Vanessa is a member of the Baxter Gang and her first (and only) appearance (no pun intended) was on page 3.01.
If you’re wondering what Charisma is talking about you obviously don’t remember this interaction or this one!
The second panel just about killed me… so much tiny detail!
You know, I just have to comment on how impressed I am with how you link back to earlier pages with every single update. How much time do you spend reading and re-reading your archives in order to make sure that there is always context for stuff a new (or forgetful) reader? Out of all the webcomics I read, you are the only one that does this on a continual basis.
The extra mile you go to explain the background of each new page is appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks! I was always a fan of those little editorial notes in Marvel comics in years gone by where they’d say “*See issue #156…” etc. I usually can’t remember exactly where something happened so have to go diving through pages to find the right one, but I can usually guesstimate fairly closely. Sometimes when I reread a chapter I can surprise myself because I’ll catch something that I’d long forgotten about – and if I have that kind of problem with every fine detail of my own story I sure can’t expect my readers to remember it all. (And yes, it would be handy if a few more webcomics did it too!)
A key word searchable data base would probably be helpful.
My preference is for the ability to add a short description to each page so that it will show up in the archive next to the page number. Maybe it does do that, I just haven’t worked out how.
The prisoner on the far left is the one I am most interested in learning more of.
The one sitting on the edge of their bed? They will be discussed page 6.59.
Is that the yet-unnamed bookworm from the chapter cover?
It is indeed!
Taking all bets: He’s a norm . . . who, upon reflection after he escapes Locke entirely, really should have been in a much more secure location, and will later play a larger role in the Vrax Japh/Darma storyline which has been foreshadowed for a very long time now.
At least . . . that’s what I’d /like/ to see happen, give or take. More exceptional norms in a world populated by meta-powered “supers” is certainly something I’d see as awesome.
I wonder if Hidden Dragon can go part-invisible, like vanishing Vanessa.
Not yet!
Typo in 4th speech bubble: “required” should read “require”.
The cells are airtight? Then how are the prisoners supplied with oxygen?
It’s poorly expressed, I guess what Scarlet means to say is that they’re enclosed systems – so that anyone who, for example, can turn into gas, or sand, or whatever – can’t escape through the breathing holes.
OK – I fixed that typo (thanks) and decided to change the other text, instead of “air tight” she now talks about “enclosed environmental systems”!
Though we don’t get a good look at her face, in my head-canon Kaycee is smirking a little because Charisma is wrong (as usual). We were just told about how the Master Assassin is being kept at Locke, so evidently they do keep people without powers if they are especially dangerous. Charisma can’t even get her insults right.
That’s right, some insults just aren’t worth responding to.
And that is half the fun. The girl does not realize just how wrong she is.
13th ghost style! xD
he did almost get a heart attack. so fun. xD
Just a thought I had yesterday regarding Master Assassin’s “Primary Character.” Have we ever seen him contemplating if He (okay, after mutilating himself, It) is the Primary Character? That could be an interesting exposition.
I’m catching up again but am jumping to the current post to say something. Keep your posting frequency to a level that’s comfortable and fun. Push too hard and you’ll burn out, causing us to lose an awesome comic. So for totally selfish reasons I’m asking you to not push yourself.
Kthnxbye!
I’m definitely going to avoid running myself into the ground but do want to keep to the current schedule as much as possible.
As long as you’re editing: Venessa Powers should be Vanessa Powers (unless her supervillain name is spelled differently than her real name).
Thanks – will do!
