The Master Assassin as you may know (or not) believes he is living in a fictional universe and that all his woes and the weirdness of the world are the results of a Creator/Writer, that to breach the barriers between the fiction and reality the Alpha Character must die. He leads a cult known as the Character Assassins who have been seen mostly in imagined scenarios – however you can get the whole crazy show, including the Master Assassin’s first appearance here. If you are struggling to recognise the second figure in the last panel… no it’s not me… you really need to check out page 6.46.

Brilliant! I am not sure how it connects to his moaning powerless yet but this is fitting psychologically in my opinion.
great page
xmung, you win the Internets! I can’t wait to see how far the Master Assassin’s brains break on this.
Wonderful page! When I saw the silouette at the computer I really thought you might have derailed the plot and gone meta (I was so relieved when I saw the last panel)
Admittedly I might be skating on pretty thin ice, but the Master Assassin is just nuts, this is what goes on in his head!
What’s wrong with going meta? I think it’s hilarious for the series to have one meta character and I was really hoping for an author appearance.
Maybe the Master Assassin is just a twisted metaphor for me anyway!
if you want to see just how far meta can be stretched, check out the (completed) comic one over zero by tailsteak. he is currently doing a completely different nonmeta comic called Leftover Soup.
messed up that second link’ Leftover Soup.
I’ve read 1 Over 0. I actually like that comic. Told a complete story too. Haven’t read this other one. *looks*
Okay, took me a minute before I noticed the author heading but I connected the dots a second later, the name TailSteak is rather distinctive. I didn’t know he had finally started another comic. Maybe I’ll check it out later.
In any case, his kind of forth wall breaking stuff is more philosophical while Master Assasan is just plain hilarious to me. He’s my favorite villian, so I’d still like him to be able to truly break the forth wall.
I hope so much, that Kaycee won’t be the alpha character, cause that would be so predictable.
Or that he will meet the creator. Please let him be nuts and leave the 4th wall intact. That would be unexpected.
A scientist could prove, they live not in a simulation/story (look at the link). (Okay they are just a story, but scientists can make errors.)
And if you want to stop with the comic, you can make one page, where Kaycee got shot from nowhere and you appear in front of him and you will tell him, that the story will end and he dies with it. (And the proof was wrong.)
But do whatever you think is best for the story.
I’m just going to say this because everyone else is thinking it:

Oooh, yeah. That’d be his ultimate nightmare, alright. The one to blame for all his suffering… is himself.
Judging from the last panel, he didn’t even manage to piss off his “creator”, let alone usurp him.
Indeed, the “creator” depicted is his younger self…
It does make sense. all he did do in his past all his pain. who is better to write it.. than himself. and Eol is right. he only got himself to blame. xD
not surprising, he is the creator from his perspective. after all, he alone has the power to challenge the story. combine that with his superiority complex and the only one that can match him would be himself.
this poor fraked up bastard if you dear writer ever told him the truth of his existence he’d kill himself
I’d still like to know how he came to all these conclusions in the first place. What events and perspective could come into play that would cause a person to believe all this living in a comic book world and killing the ‘alpha’ character would derail anything?
We might get to that at some point, maybe not in this story but one day!
I love how the guy looks all “yeah, that’s not gonna happen.”
oh this is going to be good.
If our Terrific Trio comes jumping into the Master Assassin’s mind (such as it is), this is one guy I would want to leave in his mind-loop. Talk about Dumpster Diving! Pick somebody helpful.
His deepest fear is that he is not beset by ineffable forces of the universe, but is the author of his own misery.
“‘No! I must kill the creator’, he shouted
The radio said ‘No, Master Assassin. You are the creator’
And then Master Assassin was M. Night Shyamalan”
That’s somehow too much justness(?) in it to not be a bit meta. I mean if someone deserved this, then him. It’s SO to the point.
(When I read “worm” I was a little scared, because of something I stopped reading last week. >_<)
