   I hope the soul eater being in the background is because it counts as a ‘major fail’ and not because briefly holding it is an “IOU one soul” sort of deal.

     At a guess, she counts it as a major fail… but as we saw in Chapter 3, any prolonged contact/exposure does rubs off some disturbing qualities…

   I never realized Annie was also haunted by Alex’s death. She and Kaycee really need to talk more.

     Yeah, The Things That Matter really show it off, but even before that when Annie chews out Kaycee for being at Magellan in Bad Karma, in the midst of all her angry ranting she says she’s still sorry to have failed to save Alex.
