My first thought upon seeing this was, “How could they get past the mental security scans that MUST exist here.” Then I realized that this, too, could be compromised. If they only have one mental scanner at a time on the island (ugh, who would want that job?) and that person, either due to personal belief or finding the Character Assassin’s idea’s compelling, is in on it, then it would be easy. Even worse, whose to say that person (or their government) doesn’t have prejudices (“I’ve determined you are a deviant because you like to eat the left Twixt before the right.”).
“Good” security (in both senses of the word) can be a difficult thing to come by.
There’s also the question of when they joined the Assassins. If the Island is essentially a closed system, with guards and Prosecutor stationed there for extended tours of duty, then whoever designed the security systems may have decided to focus their efforts on the perimeter to get onto the island in the first place – leaving less attention for changes in attitude among the people already on the island.
Alternatively, the checks may be oriented towards detecting imposters rather than checking the ideology of those with permission to enter. One side of the admin vets applicants before deciding whether they get permission to enter, then the checks on entry focus on making sure that the person presenting themselves for admission is the same person whose credentials have already been established.
