Maya’s resentment towards Kaycee is SO misguided. Like the sibling who resents the sibling who gets preferential treatment they don’t realise its the parent and not the sibling to blame.
If Maya was more mature she would confront Jones with her grievance and together confront the counsellor.
I hope she works past these issues & becomes if not friends with Kaycee at least non-hostile to them & avoids an evil fate. I like her a lot she fun character who I hope get’s to be major hero when she grads.
Who’s to confront? Unlike in your metaphor, nobody actually treats Kaycee preferentially. More people look down on her, although that’s not a huge number either.

i disagree.
i think it will be more interesting to see evil miasma.
but then again, grace (the author) is unpredictable.

I would like to see Maya work through her issues and remain on the good side. Future evil her was a fun character but a tragic one.
On this page and others we have seen hints that she keeps thinking the absolute worst about Kaycee, which is troubling.
