I’m almost disappointed that Dropbear’s impact sound wasn’t “Bear”. You know, to go with the sound of her falling.
I can be ridiculous sometimes.
Maybe ‘drop’ and ‘bear’ are both possible sound effects depending on the floor?
I was a bit confused by Dropbear’s visual here, as she looks markedly different from her earlier appearances in this chapter. I thought the hair and ears were what was throwing me off for a while, then I realized it was actually the pronounced lips! 👄😅
Yeah, not sure how those got in there… going to have to go back in and change one or the other. My Continuity Engine is broke!
Maybe we can see the lips now because we are so much closer than the other shot. Its like car blemishes follow a 10m rule where are they just aren’t visible unless you are closer than 10 meters. Or maybe make them a different color than eyebrows.
Not to mention that it is difficult to ask for clearance to engage a powered when you, or no one else, had figured he was in the first place.
You highlight an interesting point. A low-grade enhancement like clown dude’s can easily slip under the radar. This is further helped along by the fact that he can’t use the power very often without draining himself. In essence, low-grade, high-drain enhancements can actually be more dangerous than high-grade enhancements because low-grade enhancements carry the surprise factor
Dropbear was stern with Annie earlier for her unintentionally making Oz Magellan look
bad to the police and for stepping out of turn.. but ultimately she understands that in this moment, with the abductor already found and knocked out, that detaining him quickly is more important than procedure and protocol. Dropbear is experienced enough to use the laws
as guidelines without being blinded to the bigger picture. The Man Full of Ham, on the other hand, cares more about continuing his petty grudge than saving the girls.
What IS his grudge anyways. It seems that all Go!Anna does is deliberately malaprop his name.
If it was me I’d just retaliate word for word and call her Goof!Anna or something.
There’s definitely a story behind their mutual disdain for each other…
Gary’s always come off as kind of a dick though, hasn’t he? And sometimes Annie can be a jerk. They probably got off on the wrong foot the first time they met, and just stayed that way 😕
We know that in the present she shows up in his nightmares, though. That seems more extreme.
She shouldn’t make fun of his man cans, though.
From above!
See, it seems that, while there is protocol and procedure, sometimes a situation pops up where a super might not have time to follow them. I mean, “Hey! I am getting attacked by an unknown powered individual, Oz-Magellan. I am notifying you of my intention to engage BEFORE HE POUNDS MY BLOODY HEAD INTO THE PAVEMENT!” seems a bit…pointless. And, “Oz-Magellan, I have a super powered individual in the process of killing a normal. Request permiss-oops, sorry..he just finished slitting the normal’s throat with a mind controlled knife..do I have permission to engage? Or should I just observe and report?” seems like a PR disaster for everyone!
Sometimes it is better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission
