I’ve got to admit I’m rather impressed by this. Not only do the council admit their own mistakes in bringing this situation about, but they recognize the “brave and passionate heroes” that they are and THAT is something that should be encouraged. Bravo.
It is mostly good yes, but I think “played a role in” is wrong. They did sow those seeds by not telling the truths, no one else was involved. Granted, only Kaycee and Miasma was there for Changs death, but some telepathic truth detection on the two of them retelling that episode is certainly trustworthy enough that at least everyone but M-R would have accepted the truth and eventually convinced her as well.

Going Vigilante seems to be the best-case scenario for getting expelled from Magellan Academy . . . but I expect plenty of potential opportunities for villains in the making with certain students that end up being told “no, you can’t be a hero.”
