I dunno. It’s kinda doin’ it for me, personally.
The thing that’s getting me, though, is Gifford saying “red juice.” Why not say “blood?” Is that a dirty word in his culture?
Is his version of blood significantly different from humans? What is hemo-goblin made from?
Is it iron-carbonate rich or maybe cooper-oxides carry oxygen around his body? (Both those chemicals are green in their oxygenated states.) In that case, “red juice” might mean something else for his biology, such as cerebra-spinal fluid or urine or something like that, or maybe he leaks red juice only when suffering from a lethal infection.
