PaRARGdox 130
Tactical asset #1: To be fair, being mad at someone usually isn’t enough justification for killing them, but I figure the Rarg have made a pretty good case for an exemption to that rule.

Clever devils ðŸ˜
Of course the Rarg feel the same way about every non-Rarg in the universe, so…
Game on.
It’s… interesting, that the reason Annie gives to go for killing the Rarg is that they’ve pissed her off. Despite what was said in the crisis meeting http://magellanverse.com/comic/parargdox-38/ – which essentially boils down to “this is war, they will kill all of humanity if we don’t stop them”. While “we agree to kill the Rarg” was not shown to be said on those pages, I assume at least something of what was said (probably “war”) did carry this implication, if it wasn’t outright said between pages.
I figure that it’s her speaking impulsively. In the end the only practical choice *is* trying to kill them, because the Magellan/Earth forces are on the back foot, and her priority *has* to be keeping as many of the kids alive as possible. She has *nothing* she would need to keep prisoners if she caught any, even an intact building, much less food for them.
Well, if they weren’t depowered then they would have other options, but they are depowered so they have to do what is necessary. C’est la Guerre.
Actually, wrong lesson, Go!Anna. You don’t kill or not based on how angry you are. It’s a function of power and morality. You don’t kill when you have sufficient mastery in the situation that you don’t need to kill to resolve it. If you kill anyway, it’s some variety of murder. And you’ve become some variety of villain.
This? This is survival. Themselves, the island, humanity. Morality flips at that point to relentless killing at least until mastery of the situation can be achieved (assuming it *can* be)
Well put, I fully agree.
I would say mastery of the situation is very close. For Rargs, obviously.
More than anything, I think Go!Anna is trying to tap in to some gallows humour and stoke a little flame of passionate revenge for all the death and harm the Rarg have caused so far.
Not saying she did an appropriate thing, of course. Just . . . I don’t think we should read in to her words literally.
I think you’re right (unsurprisingly).
Only if the tables turn and the Rarg are at their mercy, but after everything that’s transpired I’m all for going Frieza on their 8 legged asses regardless.
I mean… if the piles of dead bodies wasn’t enough of a clue…
The only way to not kill them would be some EMP pulse to disable their suits’ movement.
the rarg set the ground rules. the game is life or death. refusing to kill when other lives are on the line like this is unethical.
I agree completely. A similar line of thinking could apply to known killers that have demonstrated the will to continue to murder after incarceration.
