Rochelle seeking paradox!: As we peek into her internal monologue, it seems Rochelle doesn’t even fully trust her plan. [rant] The thought balloon as a means to hearing a character’s inner thoughts seems to have become verboten in mainstream comics over the last few years, which is a shame. Instead we’re required to read through a narration by “the point of view” character for that edition/chapter… are we supposed to believe that the character sat down and wrote a long waffle of a narration during or after the story? Is it their diary entry for the day? Is it their Big Brother camera room confessional? Ugh. Makes no sense to me. Long live the thought balloon! [/rant]
Regrets?: Is Rochelle having second thoughts about her “dramatic confession” to Kaycee!

Next update: November 11: Rochelle to the rescue?
Long live the though balloon! Narration from characters should be reserved for cases where it’s flashback … or for Deadpool and similar 4th-wall-aware characters.
Rochelle, tell the guy in white about the access hatch on the bottom of the Rarg armour; he should be agile enough to hit it pretty accurately almost all the time. So Hairport has been grabbing the injured to be treated here and is wiped, otherwise I might suggest she grab a couple teleport to the Karmen line, drop them off and teleport back before she build up too much momentum.
Given the teaser for the next page is “Rochelle to the rescue?” I choose to emphasize the question mark, and I’ve got a feeling that Rochelle will focus all her effort on saving Paradoximan, potentially to the point of allowing harm or death to fall on Hairport or … forgot the other name. The spider one.
Oy! Grace! Whatever happened to the character name tags for each page? Am I just blind?
lol. Actually H’airport says his name in the last panel… Edderkoppen 🙃😁
So, then, the answer to my latter-most question is “yes.”
Well… I *still* miss the name tags 😕
IF the plan works out, saving Paradoximan long enough will save everyone. They are likely losing the battle anyway and nobody would be saved then.
All hail the thought balloon!
I hate it when they put narrator bits in there.
It’s almost like the Storage Wars/Pawn Stars kind of thing where they sit in front of the camera. “Was I going to let Jim buy that unit? Maybe. But did I want to drive the price up? Of course!” Smash cut to bidding scene: “400!”
Long live the thought balloon!
It is an integral part of why I love comics (and books), while I don’t care much for movies or TV series. Reading the thoughts of several different characters makes a story so much more valuable to me. For a webcomic with a high rate of thought balloons, I recommend Think Before You Think. It might be the record holder (any other story having that many would be ridiculous) and I find it a very interesting read.
Narration and thought balloons are both equally heinous. Show, don’t tell!
I actually disagree with Rochelle’s opening assessment: Kaycee needed to know so she would have a good reason to protect her…at all costs if necessary. While there is (by her calculation) a not insignificant chance it WON’T work, the benefits if it does work are so great that it’s worth operating under the assumption it will. Admittedly, since this requires a nasty death of a fellow student, it kind of screams “The End Justifies the Means”. However, Rochelle has been good at keeping people informed of all aspects of the plan and (I’m assuming) she’ll let Ambrosia decide if she wants to go through with it.
Which brings about the question: what would Rochelle do if Ambrosia said, “no”? 😳
That’s a good question. I’d like to think that she would try to convince Ambrosia that it’s the only logical choice, and respect her wishes if she couldn’t *resigning herself and everyone else to inevitable death* – BUT Rochelle is not usually one to let emotions cloud her choice of action. Maybe we’re going to get the chance to see?
