Also, bad enough Ambrosia gets to see something horrific even if she then stops it from happening… even worse if she has to witness it twice…

so if ambrosia can go back 60 seconds in time, why doesn’t she make 4 or 5 jumps to better improve her odds of changing things? does she need a “rest” or “recharge” period before she can do it again? i have not seen any explanation for this other than it being stated the maximum amount was 60 seconds. if she did it multiple times, like hitting a nail several times with a hammer to get nail all the way in
Yeah, she needs a rest time, can’t remember offhand where it’s stated but I’m pretty sure it’s in some of her earlier appearances in this chapter. 🙂
I think 60 seconds is the most she can do without causing a fork in timelines.
Whether she can jump more than 60s in one or in successive quick-jumps is, from what I understand, unknown.
Of course unless xmung wants to end this comic series here and now they’re gonna find a way to, whether with Paradoximan’s help to avoid forks or not, make her jump more than 60s. A forked timeline is better than the Earth going “pop”.
*without causing a fork* That’s what the boffins think. They’re probably right, although I doubt they have any experiential data to back it up :/
*Whether she can jump* No, she has to rest for a little bit longer than the time she slipped back. Grace stated that somewhere, but I haven’t looked for the source 😐
*a forked timeline is better* For us readers, you bet! For these characters, not so much 😉
For the forked characters, the opportunity for better can be significant, even if the original all goes into a volume of infinite red-shift and ultimate time-dilation, multiple limits going to infinity and all that.
Even worse when she witnesses it twice, and can’t fix it!
