PaRARGdox 202
Look out below!: Is it relevant that the Rarg ship looks like an egg, sunny side up? Nope… but Ranger Bill just can’t help himself.
Apologies for the delay with this, the last fortnight had way too many spinning plates and unfortunately that meant the one marked Magellan got dropped, hopefully back on schedule now!

Ffs RB read the effin room!
You gotta admit it though,
He’s not wrong.
Right, so . . . the ship is trashed, by the looks of things. Kaycee’s plan, even if they manage to convince the Rarg that humanity has lost . . . how are they going to get the Rarg off of Earth?
Well, maybe RB, Rochelle, and the Magellan engineers can put it back together like Humpty Dumpty? *running with RB’s egg yolk* 😉
I mean, we have to actually defeat ’em first. I’m hoping another solution will present itself🤞
Is it trashed, though? In the first iteration, it took a hit from Der Rote Verteidiger with its shields down (complements of Contessa Q) without any damage, after all, and it’s spent most of its journey to the ground functionally under the effects of reduced gravity thanks to Epoch and Ranger Bill doing what they could to slow it. I’ll be surprised if it’s completely undamaged from the crash, but I suspect it will still be serviceable (particularly if they can get the shields back up; technically a forcefield is all you’d need to keep atmosphere in, so even if the hull is breached it would still be space-worthy so long as the shields were up to keep all the atmosphere from escaping).
I’d expect the impact of a mass of that size ship hitting the ground to be more than what DRV could muster. The hash lines along the edge that is striking the ground look like structural distortion that will worsen and spread as the crash proceeds. Otoh, maybe they’ve got everything inside secured *really* well🤷
It DOES look like a giant egg-sunny side up!!!
Considering they’ve got a genocidal mad-on over humanity blowing up their nursery habitat in the first place, maybe not dwelling on their ship looking like a tasty, tasty embryo would be a good idea? Just making us look even worse.
An egg is not an embryo. An egg is only one of the two things you need to make one.
Unfertilized : Female Gamete
Fertilized : Zygote
Sunny-side up, still running. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Time to hatch a plan or they’re cooked! RB makes an egg-cellent point! As for the gals, looks like the yolk (joke) is on them. XD
As a Dad, I love this comment.
Hmm, is this closer to the crash of the alien ship in Independence Day or the saucer section of the Enterprise-D in Star Trek: Generations?
Star Trek, easily.
No love for the crash of the NSEA Protector?
Oh, no… Yasmeen and Sun are going to die, aren’t they? Just like in the last iteration… some fates cannot be avoided….
There’s certainly some evidence Ken’s “You can’t thwart your fate” genre-savvy comment was right on the money. Marco died and Bobbi was mutilated in the first version of the timeline and it happened again. Makes me wonder how many other events that happened in the first version are simply unavoidable.
nah if we couldn’t fight fate then pretty much everyone here would have to die, and there wouldn’t be much of a comic left once you kill off the majority of the main characters. I doubt the author plans to do that.
Of course the teleport won’t work correctly, you don’t tease that and fail to deliver. But I don’t think it will kill them. It will instead drop them off at a really incovenient place (and/or a perfect deus ex machina place for them to save the day later….) or otherwise add some other form of drama.
As long as it doesn’t work out how Hairport’s jump went.
That was very unfortunate.
Yasmeen: Oh, no! We were supposed to be down there, on the beach.
Sun: Make sure you hit the water feet-first!
Yasmeen: What are you doing?
Sun: Trying to slow us down a bit so we don’t break ankles.
* SPLASH *
I think both women know how to swim.
Oy vey, run to the side.
