Massacre at Jupiter: We now return to the events at Jupiter (last seen on page on page 7.07)… I don’t think anyone expected that was going to end well!
Go!Anna and Epoch make reference to the briefing they received from the Chroners – future alternate timeline travellers (see pages 7.03 to 7.05) – where the Rarg are expected to attack the Soviet colony on Mars in a decade. That’s the problem with alternate timelines I guess!!
Anyway, as promised, the various plot threads of the last 20+ pages are now starting to interlace.
Patreon: By the way, should it be a thing that interests you, my Magellan patrons over at Patreon have been getting full previews three updates ahead of schedule. And you can too for as little as $1 a month… 😎
Families/Cемьи: Page 7 is now online. Page 8 will go up on Sunday April 26 at about 6pm Sydney/3am New York time. By voting you not only get a new page of this story but you help raise Magellan’s profile and help potential new readers find us.
Next update: Wednesday, April 29, 2020: Interspecies incident! 😁
Why do I suddenly get the feeling that in order to stop the emd of the world they are going to have to kill a civilian?
You just the right type of paranoid
Maybe all that talk earlier will just turn out to be a red herring🙄
It will be worse than killing a single civilian; it will either be killing a teammate or destroying the gas mining station (and killing everyone onboard) before they can piss off the Rarg.
I am thinking one of them is a power source for the singularity generator
this is getting serious
I think it’s too late to say that after you know the world ends.
What language is Epoch speaking in the first panel?
That’s Russian for My God!
People generally swear in their native language… Is Epoch Russian? *Checks cast page* Uh I hadn’t realized… Oh wait, he’s named Vlad, that should have been a clue too.
… Is Epoch Red Vlad and Comrade Katya’s son?
Hmmm… maayyyyybe….? Maaaayyyybe not…? 🙂
I had to take a closer look at the Russian alphabet but the direct translation is: ‘Bozhe Moi’ correct?
Yep – the Russian version of ‘My God”. Epoch has said it before – as Bozhe Moi – but I decided to go for actual Russian script this time.
BTW, for some reason, everytime you comment your comment gets held for approval and I couldn’t figure out why… doesn’t happen for others after I’ve approved their first comment. It could be because the website link in your comment profile has a syntax problem (www, instead of www.)? That’s the only thing I can think of!
Let’s see if this works.
Nope. But the URL works now! So odd, I thought I might have blocked a range of IP addresses of something but that’s not it either.
Ranger Bill: To be fair it IS the only sound they make.
Tros: To Earther Auditory, Yes.
Ranger Bill: You mean like; “I am Groot?”
Tros: Shut up.
DAAAYYYUUUMMM, Grace! That first panel… the bloodied person in the video footage…
I know it’s grotesque of me to say so, but that is some of your finest artistic work! You captured the moment so perfectly for your aesthetic style!
Thanks! The original draft was more impersonal but when I got to drawing this page I figured I’d tilt harder into the horror angle to make it clear the Rarg “really commit”…
Having read the rest of the chapter up to page 159, I now shudder to think of that first panel as grotesque. At least by comparison.
“Prometheus industries.” I can guess how he decided on the name, given that he wanted to take the technology from the superheroes and share it with the regular people (for a fee, presumably). But given the ending of that myth, he was just asking for trouble.
At least it’s better than “Icarus Incorporated”.
That looks a keen observation!👏 🙌 Prometheus was doomed for eternity by Zeus, but was eventually freed by Heracles – perhaps pointing to a happier ending for the crew of the mining vessel?🤷
I think happy endings for the mining crew are long past possible.
With “happy endings”, my mind went right to the darn gutter…
When they said “interspecies incident,” I bet no one (other than Ranger Bill, probably) realized the full depth and… girth of the insinuation.
I’m thinking the question of “How’d they get that technology?” will end as soon as they find out two former members of the Magellan Island staff were onboard.
