RoboMat explosion fall out: Time to follow up on the events seen in pages 7.16-18. We rejoin first year cadets Ambrosia, Morgana, Marco and Eli… following their “little incident” in the RoboMat. As you might recall, Ambrosia saved the day but there are still questions to answer!
We also catch up with Justine Keff (aka Redd) and Freya Foster (aka Vybe) who haven’t been seen for a while now. Both are on the Faculty – Freya is an empath and counsellor; Justine, who has super strength but no invulnerability, has – as one of her multitude of tasks – the job of keeping the cadets in line. No doubt she’d be banging her head against the wall if she were invulnerable.

Heh. That made me just realize – Ambrosia was the food or drink of the gods in Greek myth, and is credited with conferring immortality to those who dine on it. Ambrosia literally means *not mortal*.

Honestly with the number of super geniuses/other super powers you’d expect reasonable levels of tolerance for the occasional explosion.
Sure, but this explosion was caused by intentionally screwing with equipment with the actual goal of making it more dangerous, and making it even more dangerous than intended because they didn’t know what they were doing.
Darn, I started reading Magellan on Thursday and I’ve already gone through the whole lot? Write faster darnit!!! I have enjoyed it very much so keep doing what you are doing.
Ha, congratulations on graduating from new reader with over a thousand pages to read… to caught up reader who has to tough it out from update to update with the other readers! I’m sure most of them would say “Welcome to the Club!” You’re lucky though, since I’m currently doing pretty good with my schedule, two pages plus an incentive page per week. So glad to hear you enjoy Magellan! 🙂
So, that means you still haven’t read two of the stories, then. Gifford Foss: Reckless Hero and Stairway to Heaven both haven’t been put back up yet. Hopefully Grace can get those up soon (I have no idea her timetable for that), and you can have a little more to tide you over. There’s also the side stories in the “Tales from the Magellanverse” section. I especially recommend Crossoverkill, as it’s a big one (though the storyline of Crossoverlord would be good to read before that, though it doesn’t involve any characters from Magellan except in cameos).

AM mentioned the Gifford and Stairway stories – that latter one featuring Mindmistress and Rochelle. Even though Grace hasn’t had the time yet to put those back in the Story So Far menu, you can find them using Wayback.

Kef looks like a red skinned version of Maxima…
Sounds like good setup for a Magellan meets Grrl Power story. Get the two interesting-skinned tanks together and swap stories of frustrations they have to deal with from those in their charge.
In a fight, I think Maxima would wipe the floor with Justine, though. Then again, I don’t know if it’s been shown what level Justine’s strength is at (though maybe only usable at a point where her armor can still withstand the force–her not having the secondary super power to protect her body from her strength is an interesting way Grace decided to go).
Going by the ratings that were used for the *old* cast page, she’s almost, but not quite, as strong as Wombat-man. She’s much easier to hurt though. That cement truck that got dropped on Luke would almost certainly have killed Redd.
