Defenestration!: Apparently Sista Superior can take an RPG to the side of her head and kind of continue to function. You can be certain though that her sight and hearing… and possibly more… won’t be in tip-top condition. As for falling several floors, you can bet that hasn’t finished her off either.
Unfortunately, apparently the same cannot be be said for Ken, Justine or Freya. ๐ข
Patreon: By the way, should it be a thing that interests you, my Magellan patrons over at Patreon have been getting full previews three updates ahead of schedule. And you can too for as little as $1 a month… ๐
Families/Cะตะผัะธ: Page 16 is now online. Sorry for the delay to this… hoping to restart from September, it’s been a crazy couple of months and it’s dented my productivity. Stay tuned! By voting you not only get a new page of this story but you help raise Magellan’s profile and help potential new readers find us.
Next update: Sunday 30 August: Kaycee and Charisma leave Largo Castle Isle…
I wonder how many are going to survive this with so many people dead or dying.
… noone? Rargs DO plan to destroy whole planet …
I’m sure they’re fine.
Hey!๐ That’s *my* line! ๐
*Nelson in Panel 3* HAHA!๐
*me in Panel 5* … You’re Killing me Grace… absolutely Killing me ๐ฉ
My current theory is that the time slipper freaks out warps back and kills the two scientists. That is the only thing that I can see fixing this sequence, the paradox part of the title. Hell of a NDA Breach resolution, I mean this is literally killing two people to save the world. And then she’s going to permanently retire because all of this will still be in her head and frankly I would want it wiped as well.
Does she know about the two scientists?
It’s safe to say, at this stage, she does not ๐
If she can go THAT far back, I don’t think she would need to kill them and in fact, it would be weird. Also, if she did that she’s going to permanently retire on Locke Island.
I suspect they find some other solution, going not that far back and still fight but be ready for that. Like … maybe everyone will be waiting for attack powered down?
everyone alive in pg 9 time slipping 6hrs…
And if we’ve lost Freya we’re quickly losing Tom, he’ll make sure he’s dead before there’s no one left to kill him. On the other hand, Fatima and Nadine are already dead and I refuse to believe that’s final, so… I already sort of think we’ll have a reset to before that point. But only sort of, because I also have a feeling this is a story that will bring great losses and make me sad. ๐
The blast at the elevator didn’t look so serious last comic. But I suppose the angle of the last panel didn’t show the damage to the elevator door.
@Grace, Not a complaint, just an observation, 16 is the one that’s been up for a while, don’t you mean 17 if you are talking about a new vote update in the author’s note?
The message about “new” voting incentive IS there for quite a long time …
School of X-Men energy blast dodging.

I have a weird feeling that despite all the tragedies now, things are gonna turn out just fine.
It’s the same feeling I had when watching Mai Hime back in the day. [Vague spoilers incomming] The first few deaths were shocking. But when the list of characters was getting pruned at such a high rate towards the end, I smelled an incoming reset. And of course this chapter has introduced us to a character with the power of retconning, who just needs a bit of a boost.
In any case, I have confidence Grace will be able to handle such an event better than the final episode of Mai Hime did. That show went way too far in erasing every single black mark, well beyond what was either justified logically or narratively.
(And that’s not counting the chapter name, or the hourglass-motif of the chapter’s cover art.)
Physically yes, emotionally? Lets say the singularity lets Ambrosia take everyone with her back 6 hours, they would all remember it, it would be real to all of them, even after they stop it from happening,
Funny how, when she’s hurt and angry, all that ‘God’s wrath’ and ‘sinner’ stuff falls away, and she’s just “GAH KILL YOU”. Almost like she doesn’t really believe any of it…
I think it would have worked out much better if they’d just let her go after the Rarg.
Anyone got a running count of how many main characters have died already? I’m starting to lose track and ain’t that a depressing thought?
I’ll take a stab (eww) at it. To start, I’d discount Nathan Dion as a main character, since he only appeared in a few pages in this arc. I’d keep Beatrix and Bruce, though, for historical reasons ๐ And I wouldn’t bother with the ones who we know only died temporarily. So.. Beatrix and Bruce – presumably after p7 _ Tom (confirmed by Grace, panel 1, p8) _ Svetlana (blonde 2nd year female, so presumed but unconfirmed, same panel/page as Tom) _ Jaxine (panel5, p9) _ Everyone still alive and identifiable in pp8-9, I was able to make out Kaycee, Go!Anna, Charisma, Olga, Sioni, Isina, Olaf, Brelvis, Ambrosia, Chiq, Gifford, Luis, and Mudge (everybody on Earth presumably dies between the end of p9 and p10) _ Bart Mort and Jane Macey (confirmed, after p49) _ Nadine and Fatima (confirmed, before p55) _ Ranger Bill (p59) _ Ken, Justine, and Freya (presumed after this page 62). That makes the body count 26 by my reckoning… I might be mistaken about Sveta, and I might be missing some folks in pp8-9 (the level of detail makes proper ID hard to confirm). If you want to include the people who die (but not really, thanks to Ambrosia), add Marco and Eli [there will probably be more in that group]. And for the ‘undead’ (those who died, but were revived by Olaf) you can add Sun and Yasmeen (and probably Charisma *again*, who we know is in bad shape now, but sure looks a lot better in p8!).
Oh, gosh… for the p9-10 big finish, I’m leaving out all the others that appeared in the pages in between 10 and 62. Presumably, all of them died too in the aftermath of p10, but we can only be SURE for the ones who we saw in pp8-9 (and only *pretty* sure for them ๐ )
My theory is that everyone still alive by pg9/10 is pulled into a time slip, about 24 hrs…
Hmm… Expand not only the temporal range of Ambrosia’s ability, but also the area of effect? That could well do the trick, but it’s an awfully big jump to make. If you just increased her “range” so that she could go back herself, you might pull it off. But you’d have to rely on her memory, so the plan couldn’t be too complex.
6hrs would be enough and actually we see it, in pg 9, the effect of her powers is shown covering everyone whom was being pulled into the singularity, this would also sidestep the biggest problem with solving the problem with time travel, namely reset on character development,
This is just getting worse & worse… No time to morn the bodies.
You have gone past the point of too many mains dying to stay dead, I just hope it isn’t a perfect reset, those suck for character development, I hope that they all have some memories of what didn’t happen…. I think I just realized how they fix everything, what if everyone involved in the final charge is time slipped back a day?
