I’ve often wondered if Brelvis’ eyesight got a bit dimmer and slanted more towards a dog’s vision rather than a human’s after he was melded. Given he couldn’t tell the difference between the robots by sight at the beginning of the chapter despite the two of them clearly being molded into male and female versions with one also holding a baby bot and gun as well, he might actively be “seeing the world” through his nose a good 80% of the time now. That would account for the incessant sniffing.
At least Wolverine takes breaks from actively sniffing things. Then again, many dogs are obsessed with smells.
